In Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party has appointed Anmol Ratan Sidhu as Advocate General of Punjab. He has also taken over his charge. Anmol Ratan Sidhu said that he will donate his salary to drug de-addiction centers.

As soon as the new government of Aam Aadmi Party is formed in Punjab, new appointments have also started. The swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet of the Punjab government took place on Saturday. After this the first meeting of the cabinet was also held. After this, the state government gave the green signal to appoint Dr. Anmol Ratan Sidhu as Advocate General. He has also taken over his charge.

Anmol Ratan Sidhu has also been Assistant Solicitor General of India and Additional Advocate General of Punjab. Earlier, the Channi government had also announced to make Sidhu an AG, but due to political reasons, the screw was stuck on his appointment.

Punjab Advocate General DS Patwalia resigned from his post on Friday following the defeat of the Congress in the Punjab Assembly. Patwalia was appointed to the post after pressure from Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu.

According to the order issued by the Punjab Government, the new Government of Punjab has appointed Dr. Anmol Ratan Singh Sidhu as the new Advocate General of Punjab. Surprisingly, Sidhu has been associated with Congress and Channi Sarkar had also once announced his name on Advocate General, but due to pressure from Navjot Singh Sidhu, Patwalia was appointed to this post.

During the tenure of Manmohan Singh’s government at the Center, Anmol Ratan Singh Sidhu has also been the Assistant Solicitor General of India in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, he has also been the Chairman of the Bar Council and the President of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association for eight times. He has also served as the Additional Advocate General of Punjab.

After taking over, Anmol Ratan Sidhu said that he would donate his salary to drug de-addiction centres. He will help the drug de-addiction center of Maqboolpura district, Amritsar. Sidhu said that it would be his priority to look into the cases related to drugs. If needed, a new team can be formed to advocate these cases.
