Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s petition in the High Court

On the other hand, Paramjit Singh Sohali, an independent candidate from Punjab’s Samana assembly seat, has filed a petition in the High Court regarding the release of Dera Sacha Sauda on furlough by the Haryana government. In the petition filed in the court, he has made serious allegations against the Haryana government. In the petition filed in the court, Paramjit Singh Sohali said that just before the assembly elections in Punjab, Ram Rahim has been released on furlough to take political advantage.

The allegations leveled against Ram Rahim in the petition

Petitioner Paramjit Sohali has alleged in his petition that Ram Rahim has a deep influence in many seats of Punjab and in such a situation, his furlough may disturb the peace in Punjab. He said that the fairness of the elections would also be affected by the furloughs of Ram Rahim. Even when Ram Rahim was sentenced, there was heavy violence in Panchkula. In such a situation, this decision of the Haryana government is completely wrong. Being convicted in a serious case like rape and murder, he does not have the right to furlough under the Haryana Good Conduct Prisoners Act.
