- Stop appeasing China for PM
- The talks between the foreign ministers of India and China ended in failure
- Agneepath recruitment scheme should be withdrawn immediately
Ladakh News: The Congress on Monday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reassure the country about China’s intrusion into India and address the concerns of the people of the country on national security, integrity and sovereignty. Congress spokesperson Gaurav Gogoi said the recent talks between the foreign ministers of India and China failed and did not yield the desired outcome of maintaining the status quo on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh till April 2020. Gogoi demanded a white paper on the issue, a two-day debate in Parliament and a report to the Standing Committee on Security Affairs in Parliament.
Congress wants to appoint CDS soon.
Spokesperson Gaurav Gogoi alleged that the government’s attitude towards China has been too weak so far and it is time for the prime minister to confront China. He told reporters, “Prime Minister Modi should reassure the country about the China threat and after issuing the White Paper, the Prime Minister, Defense Minister and External Affairs Minister will hold a press conference to clarify the current situation. Gogoi also said that the Congress wants early appointment of full-time CDS, especially considering that the post has been vacant for 7 months at a critical time for national security.
He said the meaning of DDLJ
“The Prime Minister should stop appeasing China and act boldly and decisively to protect his image,” the Congress leader said. In a press conference, Gogoi said, “After more than two years of border dispute with China in eastern Ladakh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strategy has proven to be DDLJ. And he said that DDLJ stands for , lie (lie) and justify (justify).”
Jaishankar and the Chinese Foreign Minister met and talked
Notably, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ is a popular movie starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, which is known as DDLJ in short form. He recalled the Prime Minister’s speech that days after 20 brave soldiers of the country lost their lives in Kalwan, no one had entered Indian territory. He said the latest round of talks between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in July did not yield any results. According to a foreign ministry statement after the meeting, which asked China to withdraw troops from all remaining areas, the Chinese statement made no mention of Ladakh.
15 rounds of talks with China at corps commander level
Noting that China has not taken India’s concerns seriously, Gogoi said, “We have reached a pitiful situation where China does not even bother to listen to India’s demands.” However, under the Working Mechanism for Discussion and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC), India and China have held 15 rounds of talks at the Corps Commander level and 10 rounds at the Foreign Ministry level. During this period China has recently strengthened its control with the Aksai Chin military complex, China has increased its 5G network along the LAC, 5 new heliports, a large bridge over Pangong Lake and increased air operations.
Gogoi alleged, “The purpose of this expansion is to give China the ability to move quickly, conduct quick maneuvers in eastern Ladakh. It is clear that the Chinese are being over-aggressive, while the Indian people are enforcing our leadership. Part of its DDLJ strategy.” He said that the Congress party’s stand is very clear and that the status quo in LAC before May 5, 2020 must be restored at any cost and we will not compromise on that.
