The voting process for 10 seats in the Legislative Council was completed. With 11 candidates in the fray for 10 seats, Shige was curious as to which party’s candidate would be elected. In the Rajya Sabha elections, Devendra Fadnavis performed a miracle and won all the three BJP candidates. Therefore, Shiv Sena candidate Sanjay Pawar was defeated. Therefore, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had taken all the formulas in his hands for the Legislative Council. He had kept all the MLAs under his supervision. Even on the day of polling, the Chief Minister had discussed with all the MLAs and sent them to the polls. At this time, Shiv Sena had emphasized on winning its candidate on the strength of its own MLAs as it did not want any slap in the face.

A total of nine candidates have won since the first round of counting. In the first round, Ramraje Nimbalkar and Uma Khapare lost one vote each and the quota of 25.73 was decided for the first preference vote. The result was then announced.
