Legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal on Friday confirmed his place in the final of the first Grand Slam Australian Open of the year. Nadal made it to the final by defeating Matteo Beretani in the semi-final match. This star player, who has won 20 Grand Slams, is now just one victory away from his 21st and historic title. Nadal defeated 14th seed Denis Shapovalov of Canada in the men’s singles quarter-final match. The match lasted for five sets. Sixth seed Nadal won the match 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3, which lasted four hours and eight minutes.

Rafael Nadal is now just one victory away from creating history. As soon as he wins the final, he will become the first player to win 21 Grand Slams. Right now Nadal, world number one Novak Djokovic and veteran Roger Federer all have 20-20 Grand Slam names. Djokovic did not play this tournament after the visa dispute, which made the task easier for Nadal. Nadal won this title only once in 2009.
